8 Minutes
8 MINUTES is a science fiction woodcut novel created by David Fabrega (original idea, story) and Borja Moreno (drawing, engraving, printing). This retrofuturistic drama is characterized by its humanist and existential reflection, in the tradition of the first woodcut novels made by famous artists like Frans Masereel and Lynd Ward.
The woodcut novel is a genre that emerged in the 1920s. Illustrated entirely with images created through the woodcut process, this precursor to the graphic novel tells a story without words. Spreading across Europe and the United States during the interwar period, the genre—driven by socialist ideals—was shaped by German Expressionism and the visual grammar of silent cinema.
